Windows 7 Became The Most Popular Desktop OS Overtaking XP & Mac OS X Crosses Vista
Windows 7 has overtaken Windows XP as the world's most popular desktop operating system, which marks the end of a long run by Windows XP.
Windows 7's market share stands at 42.76 percent compared to Windows XP's 42.5 percent, till the month of august.The interesting fact is that the share of Win7 rose one percent per month about the same rate WinXP suffered a decline.
There is also good news for Apple in August ,the total Mac OS X user base combined surpasses Vista. Apple's combined share of the desktop market( taking both versions 10.4 and after of OS X) Apple has a 7.11 percent share, while Windows Vista takes 6.1 percent.
