It has not been long since nVidia Revealed Their Monster GPU GTX 690, to swipe the Graphics Cards King's Throne From AMD 7970 GHz Edition. From then AMD has been on a secret path, no information about a they will prepare to rival against GTX 690. Now news are being leaked of a monster GPU AMD 7990 under construction.
AMD's upcoming dual-GPU monster the Radeon HD 7990 6GB is rumoured to
include six display outputs and require four six-pin power leads.
AMD's answer to rival Nvidia's GeForce GTX 690, the Radeon HD 7990 6GB
is rumoured to pack two Tahiti XT graphics cores alongside a total of
6GB of GDDR5 memory running at 1,500MHz on a PCI Express 3.0 high-end
graphics board. With figures like these, AMD is going to need some
serious power - and a leak claims to reveal how it plans to get it. They will include four six-pin power connectors rather than common two eight pin connectors. The reason for this somewhat odd decision, the site's sources claim, is
power regulation through a multiphase system split into three groups:
one for the GPUs, one for the memory, and one for the PCI Express
controller itself.
Sources states that it holds six display outputs: four mini-DisplayPorts and two DVI connections.
Support for all AMD technologies, including EyeFinity
and HD3D, will be part of the system.
Earlier news told that release would be near This August, but will occur before Christmas 2012.
