Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 Ti Releasing On Aug 16 - The New Mid Range King?

Nvidia To Release GTX 660 Ti - Replacement For Less Efficient GTX 560 Ti

Release Date: August 16 -2012

It wasn't long since Nvidia took the throne of "GPU King" from AMD HD 7970 With GTX 690. It was Obvious- Nvidai was quick- They Brought Three Weapons from their Arsenal GTX 670,680,And Mighty GTX 690. For Which AMD had No Reply.

For Nvidia this is the best time to take lead in the mid range section-As AMD Will be busy making a bulldozer to challenge 690.
The Mid Range is basically owned by GTX 560Ti and Radeon HD 6870. And it had been over a year since a new ruler had taken reign over this field.
Hence This is the best chance nvidia gets to showcase a potential mid range Boss.

Lets Check The Specs...

The GTX 660 Ti is powered By;
  • Kepler GK104 28nm Architecture
  • 1344 CUDA Cores
  • 96 Texture Operators And 24 ROPs
  • Clocked At 910 MHz And Boost Upto 980 MHz
  • A 6 GHz GDDR5 Memory
  • 192 bit bus width
  • HDMI, Two-DVI and a Standard VGA port
  • SLI Support
  • 2048 MB VRAM
The details eminently explains GTX 660 Ti to be a Big Brother For GTX 560 Ti- Simply saying a replacement option for the old 560Ti which is not so impressive at energy efficiency unlike its Radeon Counterpart HD  6870. The 28nm architecture enables it to be more power saving than older 560s. But only slight problem is the 192 bit bus since 560ti has a 256 bit.

GTX 660 Ti is essentially a GTX 670 with lowered bus width [ GTX 670 has 256-bit].

All these clearly shows a $299+ graphics card getting ready to be a Mid-range Boss!
